Watercolor and oil color artist Suna Erdamar, from Ankara, Turkey, was born in 1950. She studied in SBF (The Faculty of Political Sciences) and worked for The Industry and Trade Ministry of Turkey and TCMB (Central Bank of The Republic of Turkey). In early 1980s, she introduced and marketed artistic fabric paint to Turkish hobbyists with SUTEKS fabric dyes. Her professional artistic painting career started with watercolor and oil painting lectures at Gazi University in 1993.
Suna Erdamar prefers to use moments of daily life in rural areas or places, reflecting fading lifestyles in Turkey as her subject. In her drawings she captures the scenes of people in their traditional clothing that represent the customs of generations. Historical and natural treasures are transferred to paint with the vivid colors of daylight.
Her artwork has been represented in private and mixed exhibitions in Ankara, Izmir and Istanbul in Turkey; Sofia in Bulgaria; Skopje and Shtip in Macedonia; Tirana and Duress in Albania; Bucharest in Romania; Dublin in Ireland; Paris in France; New York in United States and Mainz in Germany.
Suna Erdamar is currently a member of several art clubs including GESAM (Vocational Union for The Performers of Fine Arts in Turkey) and Ankara Painting Artists Association.
